Who is behind DMTPORTAL?
DMTPORTAL is the psychedelic art, motion and music project of John Dobbie. John trained in classical animation at Sheridan and has more than twenty years of videogame-art experience, including work across the Tony Hawk, Call of Duty, Diablo and God of War franchises. Meet the artist.
Is the art made with AI?
AI-generated imagery is part of DMTPORTAL's digital practice, alongside animation, editing, motion experiments and sound. The hand-drawn Psychedelic Microcosms screenprints are a separate part of John's work. Each collaboration credits the original artist whose work was explored through motion.
Where can I buy the hand-drawn screenprints?
Psychedelic Microcosms screenprints are available through jdobbie.com. These signed, titled and numbered editions use six ink colors on Stonehenge cotton rag paper with deckled edges. The series contains five images in three colorways. Availability and prices are listed there. Checkout takes place on jdobbie.com, separately from your DMTPORTAL cart.
Which print format should I choose?
Choose an unframed poster or rolled print if you want to select your own frame. Framed prints arrive with the frame specified in their listing. Canvas has its own surface and construction. Sizes, paper, finishes and mounting details vary, so check the individual product and selected variant before ordering.
How large is the 30 × 40 inch blanket?
It is a compact lap blanket or decorative accent. It is not a full-size bed blanket. Check the listing for the exact fabric and care instructions.
Are skate decks made to order?
DMTPORTAL skate deck editions are produced in batches and held in stock. The individual listing explains the artwork, finish, dimensions and edition. A numbered edition of 50 describes the total edition, not the number still available. These listings are for decks; trucks and wheels are not included unless expressly stated.
When will my order arrive?
Most prints, clothing and home goods are made to order. Production time is separate from transit time, and items may arrive in separate parcels. Available shipping options and charges are shown at checkout. Check the delivery information for your selection, and contact the studio before ordering for a fixed deadline. See the shipping policy.
How do I check an order or report a problem?
Use the order-status link in your confirmation email, or email thedmtportal@gmail.com with your order number. For a damaged or incorrect item, include clear photographs and a description. The refund policy explains eligibility and deadlines. Contact us promptly about an address correction; changes may not be possible once production or shipping has begun.
Does buying a print include commercial rights?
No commercial reproduction license is implied by a physical purchase. Digital products and custom licenses have their own stated terms. For album covers, merchandise, commercial visuals or other licensing, contact John to discuss the intended use.
Can I commission visuals or collaborate?
Yes, inquiries are welcome. Include your project type, intended use, event or release date, aspect ratio and resolution, desired loop length, number of deliverables and budget range. John will confirm availability, scope, price and rights. Explore the studio work.
What was DMTPORTAL's role in the live shows?
John created original content in close collaboration with Johnathan Singer for use within Singer's wider live visual mixes. This includes Slightly Stoopid tours, Shpongledroid, RE:IMAGINE Los Angeles, Closer to the Sun, Dead Ahead and Fire on the Mountain. This credit describes a content contribution, rather than sole creation or operation of each show's entire visual production. See the live visuals page for the projects.
